What Makes It Unique?

The Berkley Warpig is a truly unique lipless crank. The first thing you will notice on the retrieve is the amount of action you get from the side-to-side wobble. Even with a medium-heavy rod, your rod tip bounces from the amount of movement from this bait. Pretty impressive stuff. Some crank baits are difficult to cast in the wind, especially with a bait cast reel. You want to eliminate as much plane as you can to avoid any backlash. The Berkley Warpig casts like a dream and does a great job of cutting through the wind without imitating “helicopter blades.” Run it shallow over weed flats or slow it down and hit submerged cover, the Warpig can do it all.

The Bottom Line

The Berkley Warpig gets its tremendous action from the body design, not from the square lip. This crank has done well for us running it fast over weed flats. The Warpig handles grass surprisingly well when paired with a high ratio reel.
